Kinohi Designs

Clean designs with a sense of modern whimsy

Kinohi Designs grew out of a love for design and a vision for how it could change the world. Founder Jennifer Tanabe began her career as an award-winning art director and designer for big name clients in San Francisco and St. Louis, including Minute Maid, Bank of America and Gloria Jean's Coffee. Despite her success, she returned to her hometown of Honolulu, Hawaii in 1997 and started Kinohi Designs in 2001. She quickly became a highly sought-after stationery purveyor, gaining clients across the nation from both the Hollywood elite and Fortune 500 companies. In addition to designing stationery exclusively for Tiny Prints and Wedding Paper Divas, Jennifer also co-founded 1013, an integrated branding and production company in Honolulu. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering for several nonprofit groups, including UNICEF and The Contemporary Museum.

IN THE PRESS:

Jennifer's work for Kinohi Designs has been featured in Brides, Pacific Weddings, Cincinnati Bride and Honolulu Magazine's Annual Design Issue, as well as the American Advertising Federation's regional Addy awards.

EVERYDAY INSPIRATION:

"When designing baby or family stationery, I get inspiration by looking at a variety of items, including textiles, children books, toys and clothing."

A TINY FLASH BACK:

"I was artistic from an early age, with some of my most notable works debuting on the living room walls and on the inside of my books. I would create my own handmade books and design elaborate clothing and furniture for my Barbie dolls. I thought I would grow up to be a fashion designer."
